There is a "tldr" paragraph at the end of this review!

I use my iron a lot more than most people, almost daily, because I make garments and quilts. I've gone through a lot of irons and I know that there are big differences between them. The most expensive ones aren't always the best, and earlier Rowentas I've had haven't lived up to their cost, either in performance or longevity. I was using a Sunbeam when I had the opportunity to try this one. I used it to press seam allowances on quilt blocks and to iron large pieces of cotton fabric.

Rowenta Irons 1700-Watt Micro Steam

I've done a lot of research and a lot of comparison before buying this iron. I sew, mostly for my family and myself, and most of my projects require pressing. My old iron was not cutting it, it took forever to heat up and the steam was not steaming at all, it was more like a faucet, water leaking everywhere. I've looked up recommendation from other seamstress/sewer and 95% of them recommended Rowenta.
Since I'm not making things to sell or use it on the daily basis, after hours of comparison, I decided to buy the DW5080, it was right on my price range and did everything I needed it to do. Once the package arrived I couldn't wait to tear it open and begin using my new iron. It's not lightweight, it is definitely sturdy, so just be aware of that. Read the instruction that came in the box carefully and follow the instruction for first time use. If you are like me, I want to make sure my tools last as long as they can.
Okay onto the iron itself.

Rowenta Irons 1700-Watt Micro Steam
- The cord is a little bit longer than my older iron (maybe about 2-3 inches longer).
- The water tank is definitely bigger
- The steam holes is definitely more than my old iron
- There are several settings for how much steam you want to use in each project
- There is a self cleaning tab (I do this at least every other week since I do not use it as often)
- The heat setting knob is smooth, not like my old iron it feels like the combination lock where I need to hear it click to know it's in the right settings
- The pointed tip is perfect for pleats, collars, tabs, and so on
- The iron heats up in a minute maybe less (I really didn't set the stopwatch for this)
- It automatically shuts off after a few minutes of non-use
- To turn it on I just lay it flat for a second and stand it back up
- With this iron it takes me 5-15 minutes (depending on how many yards of fabric I have). The old iron takes me 15-25 minutes (depending on how many yard of fabric I have).

Removing Rust - How to remove Rust From Metal

Removing Rust - How to remove Rust From Metal

Bike, furniture, accessories, nuts and bolts, gears, automobile parts, machineries, gardening tools, steel utensils or water pipes - rust can be found on all of them. All iron products are susceptible to corrosion if not protected accurately. Rust makes iron weak, brittle and ugly. Rusty iron is of no use.

Removing Rust - How to remove Rust From Metal

Iron metal is widely used for both personal and industrial purposes. In plants and factories, most of the machineries are made of iron. Nuts and bolts, gears, cams, screws, chains, hammers, pliers, hinges, pins, scaffoldings and other mechanical tools are made of iron. Iron made chairs and tables are quite coarse in houses and offices. Pipelines for water Supply and steam pipelines are also made of iron in most cases. A lot of population own iron, steel or wrought iron made antiques, artworks, showpieces, photo frames, candlestick holders, cutlery sets, dining table accessories and many other household items.

When rust forms on these items you not only lose the goods but you need to dispose convenient rust treatment. And the matter does not end there. In industrial fields, rusty iron products can lead to serious loss and even fatality. Heavy weight mechanical devices become brittle and can lead to serious accidents in plants and factories.

In houses, when rust forms on household products, the items look ugly and become useless. While handling rust tools, population often suffer from bruises which may ultimately turn up to be a serious condition problem.

If the iron frame of your couch rusts, the cushion gets stained. Same thing can happen with window curtains and shower cover. Fabrics when come in perceive with rusted products, they catch the stain. Rusty iron is brittle and porous; the particles surely slide to any adjacent surface. That is why clothes bordering rusted products get stained so often.

How to take off rust?

In past, population used to rub the metal covering with sandpaper, wire brush and chemicals to clean rust. The method was very much laborious. After spending long hours just scrubbing the metals only a part of it could be cleaned. The chemicals were also not good for health; inhaling those chemicals might lead to serious condition problems.

Rust extraction is a hectic process indeed. In industrial houses, rust cleaning may cause long down time. A small engine part gets rusty and you should call on the cleaning team to take off rust from the metallic part.

And most population do not know the side effects of ordinary rust cleaners. Even some population use normal sanitizers to clean rust. Not only these products fail to reMover rust, but they damage the main product!

Chemical based cleaners are not at all good for human beings too. It is all the time suggested to use natural cleaning products when it comes to clean rust. They not only clean rust, but safe further possibilities of rusting on the metal. At the same time, natural cleaning products do not do any harm to the iron products. Most importantly they are safe for health.

Spray based rust cleaners are quite easy to use...just spray the explication over the rusty surface; that's it. Organic rust cleaning agents have surely made cleaning process simple!

What's the unlikeness between a Steam Generator Iron and a regular Iron?

What's the unlikeness between a Steam Generator Iron and a regular Iron?

The name is a bit of a giveaway, is it not? Steam irons and steam generator irons must yield steam, right?

What's the unlikeness between a Steam Generator Iron and a regular Iron?

What's the unlikeness between a Steam Generator Iron and a regular Iron?

What's the unlikeness between a Steam Generator Iron and a regular Iron?

Lots of population believe that a steam generator iron is just the new name for a steam iron but this is not no ifs ands or buts the case. Yes, it's true that both types of irons yield steam and do the job of removing unwanted creases out of your clothes but, beyond that, there are many variations in the way they work.

Let's take a look at some of the differences:

The most distinct bodily divergence in the middle of a steam iron and a steam generator iron is the size and organize of each. Whereas a primary iron is no ifs ands or buts a self-contained, hand-held unit plugging directly into an galvanic socket, a steam generator iron is greater in dimensions and consists of 2 parts - the body which is the hand-held iron, and also the other part which will be the base unit. A tube connects the iron to the base unit and the base is then attached to the electricity socket.

The boiler of the steam generator iron is housed in the cut off base unit and this is where the water is stored and heated. The steam then travels towards the sole plate of iron straight through the tube which connects the hand-held iron part to the base unit.

We are able to see how both kinds of iron look different, but they are there any differences with regards to no ifs ands or buts with them? Yes, there are - One of the main differences is the fact that a steam generator iron is capable of producing a lot more steam than the usual, primary steam iron and it's this vast number of steam which allows you to speedily get your ironing done in a shorter duration than it would regularly take.

You can collate using a steam generator iron to using a Power washer when cleaning your vehicle - both are suited and make completing a task much easier. If you then collate using a primary steam iron to cleaning your car having a approved hose-pipe, both can get the jobs done but, if you want to make life easier on your own, you might want to select the stronger tool. This should make Lighter work of the chores and accelerate the process of having your ironing done.

Obviously, these aren't the only differences in the middle of your 2 types of iron. I've pointed these out as being the most apparent bodily and mechanical differences but there are others too.

What Is The Best Wet To Dry Flat Iron?

What Is The Best Wet To Dry Flat Iron?

There have been man innovations in flat iron technology; ceramic plates, tourmaline plates and flash Heating. The most recent innovation is wet to dry flat irons. Wet to dry flat irons are becoming more and more favorite because they avoid the need to first blow-dry your hair and furnish straighter, shinier hair for those with particularly curly of difficult to manage hair.

What Is The Best Wet To Dry Flat Iron?

What Is The Best Wet To Dry Flat Iron?

What Is The Best Wet To Dry Flat Iron?

What Is The Best Wet To Dry Flat Iron?

What Is The Best Wet To Dry Flat Iron?

Applying any heat to your hair damages it. Therefore when you first blow-dry your hair and then use a flat iron to straighten it, you're subjecting your hair to high temperatures not once but twice! You can apply hair serums to your hair to help safe the damage of heat, but if you use a flat iron often you can cause your hair follicles to dry out, which in turn causes frizziness and split-ends.

Manufacturers have realised that first drying your hair before using a flat iron to straighten it puts your hair at twice the risk from heat damage. The answer has been the amelioration of wet to dry flat irons. Using a wet to dry flat iron doesn't eliminate heat damage but it means you can avoid the high temperatures complicated in blow-drying your hair. The corollary is a review of three of the best wet to dry flat irons on the store today.

Corioliss Tourmaline Ceramic Wet to Dry Flat Iron comes very recommended. This flat iron from Corioliss comes with 1.75" tourmaline plates. Tourmaline plates furnish many times the amount of negative ions than do ordinary ceramic plates. Negative ions close the cuticle layer to create a smooth, silky hair covering and seal in the hair's natural moisture. Corioliss wet to dry hair straighteners also come with a Ceramic Far Infrared Heating System.

The Maxiglide Mx-597 One Step Hair Straightening Iron is economy than the Corioliss and it also comes with steam burst technology. This Maxiglide flat iron comes with two sets of ceramic plates; the first set is the usual flat ceramic plates found on most flat irons, and the second set of plates has small teeth like a comb, which help to detangle hair and brush it as the same time. Maxiglide claim that, just as you use bursts of steam when ironing out creases in your clothes, so too you use steam to straighten out stubborn curly hair. This sounds great but there are some minus points with the Maxiglide wet to dry flat iron. First off, the appliance has a water depot for the steam, which means that the unit is a diminutive heaver and bulky development it difficult for some to use. Also, the plates are 4 inches wide development it a diminutive unwieldy. Finally, some have complained that the detangling pins of the ceramic plates, far from helping to straighten hair, but absolutely make the task harder to accomplish. But despite these complaints, many find the Maxiglide Mx-597 One Step flat iron an exquisite hair straightener.

The Remington Wet 2 level flat iron is the cheapest of the three wet to dry flat iron. Its cheapness probably reflects the lack of features offered by the other two, but the Remington flat iron is exquisite value for money. Unlike the Maxiglide, the Remington Wet 2 level does not come with steam and but, like the Maxiglide, it also doesn't have tourmaline plates like the Corioliss wet to dry flat iron. The Remington flat iron does come with dual voltage, so you can use it all over the world. Also it comes with a generous 2-year warranty: both Maxiglide and Corioliss offer only a one year warranty.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a cheap wet to dry flat iron, then the Remington Wet 2 level flat iron is an exquisite product. If you have hair that just doesn't seem to straighten - and you've used other flat irons - you could give the steam burst flat iron from Maxiglide a try. If money is no qoute and you want the best wet to dry flat iron, then the Corioliss Tourmaline Ceramic Wet to Dry Flat Iron is the one to go for.

Is There A Safe Way To Kill Bed Bugs And prevent Them From Ever Returning?

If you have experienced the frustrating and often painful effects of bed bug infestation, you may well have wondered "Is there a safe way to kill bed bugs?"

Is There A Safe Way To Kill Bed Bugs And prevent Them From Ever Returning?

You'll be glad to know that there is. Despite the resilience of the little critters, you do not have to drench your mattress in pesticide or choke on poisonous vapors in order to rid yourself of these pests. There is a safe and very straightforward way to kill bed bugs - kill them with a climatic characteristic change.

Bed bugs are very affected by the climatic characteristic of their environments so they can categorically be killed by a low climatic characteristic as well as by a high one. However, it is easier by far to subject bed bugs to high temperatures in such a way as to kill them and their eggs and stop the cycle.

One of the most efficient ways to expose bed bugs to high temperatures for the purpose of eradication is to use steam vapor cleaning. Bed bugs are not little to mattress and bedding, they infest the carpets, curtains, walls and everywhere they can get a foothold. So steam cleaning the mattress, carpet, curtains and even the walls and other surfaces will go a long way to enduringly removing them. You cannot leave it at that, however. You will also need to wash all bedding and any clothes or items which could be infected.

Simple vacuuming is also beneficial. Daily vacuuming of the mattress and rug can reMove or limit the threat when combined with heat from steam cleaning or other sources. If you do not have way to steam cleaning, some population have successfully used hairdryers on high heat to kill bed bugs on mattresses and others have used an iron. It is foremost that the high temperatures are applied suddenly so that the bed bugs do not get the chance to scatter and survive.

If you feel that heat isn't adequate and want an extra sense of certainty in eradicating bed bugs, you can make up a composition of tea tree oil and water in a spray bottle and Lightly mist your mattress and rug and any other relevant furnishings. This will not be strong adequate on its own, however, combined with heat will significantly heighten your chances of success.

Using pesticides, particularly on mattresses and in bedrooms can pose serious risks to human health. Furthermore, bed bugs can build up an immunity to these chemicals rendering them useless.

Fortunately, bed bugs are very vulnerable to climatic characteristic and applying heat to them is a safe and easy way to eradicate them from your home.

The hidden to Crispy Fried Chicken Batter

The hidden to Crispy Fried Chicken Batter

The chicken is one of the tastes that are most enhanced using a fry pan, weather pan frying or deep-frying, the chicken- if done correctly, chicken will all the time have the best results when cooked in oil.

The hidden to Crispy Fried Chicken Batter

The hidden to Crispy Fried Chicken Batter

The hidden to Crispy Fried Chicken Batter

The hidden to Crispy Fried Chicken Batter

The hidden to Crispy Fried Chicken Batter

Frying has the ability, if done correctly to turn the coating into a tasty expanding yet, at the same time, enable the chicken to cook in its own juices and come to be tender and delicious.

What you need to make unavoidable when frying is that the oil is hot enough- if the chicken is put into boiling oil the heat of the oil turns the juices of the chicken into a Powerful steam pushing out from the chicken, that steam is what in actual fact cooks the chicken (that is why fried chicken is so tasty) at the same time the oil is prevented from penetrating the chicken and only fries the batter into a crisp coat that adds spice and flavor.

The rules are roughly the same for all pieces in the chicken:
The town parts (that have the longer, thicker muscles and sLightly whiter meat) have less natural juices and dry out faster.

Chicken thighs, drumsticks have a sLightly softer, browner meat and a succulent taste (wings are an exception to both groups, they have darker meat but are so thin they must be fried quickly to avoid drying out)

When frying a chicken it should undoubtedly be sliced into the separate parts (whole stuffed chickens are best in the oven, food ordinarily doesn't fry uniformly when separate sizes of pieces are cooked at once). The larger breast pieces are best fried when separated from the bones and skin, whereas the legs (drumsticks) and thighs are best when left with their bones (skin is optional as it is tasty to some, unappealing to others and has a high fat article that should be taken into account).

All chicken pieces are best when covered up before pan-fried or deep fried. Unlike beef that has the quality to close inside all juices when on a heat source (grill, pan, or cast Iron skillet) the chicken meat doesn't have the same ability, and it loses moisture and dries up. If there is a coating (batter or other) the oil remains on the covering while the chicken cooks in the steam formed from its own juices- so the fried chicken doesn't lose neither the moisture nor the flavor.

Two quick recipes for either type of chicken meat, and a Secret revealed in each one:

The chicken thighs, drumsticks and wings should be covered in a softer batter and deep fried:
The secret for the batter is to dip the chicken parts into Yogurt! a simple sour yogurt (it adds moisture, while softening the meat and enriches the taste) leave it in the Yogurt for 30 minutes, then roll it in a compound of seasoned bread crumbs and gently put into deep hot oil until golden, make sure you take out immediately when ready and soak off all excess fat (another tip is not to fry too many pieces at the same time, they need room to properly fry).

The chicken breast and back-the "Schnitzel Oriental":
The chicken breast should be cleaned from bones and skins and cut into slices 0.2 inch high (0.5 centimeter) than put dipped into scrambled egg (a small private is to add milk and half a teaspoon of mustard into the egg batter for extra taste!) and dip into a seasoned mix of breadcrumbs. The private to the breadcrumbs is to use Oriental seasoning-Turmeric, Cumin, Dried Garlic, Curry powder, Dharma Masala, and for the brave- Sambar Powder. Fry in a flat pan in boiling oil (the level of the oil should reach half the height of the chicken fillets) when Gold on the bottom flip over and when golden on both take out and soak excess oil onto a paper towel. These are just as good if frosty and reheated at a later date (even in a microwave) so you can make a large batch that will last a long time. Note that these spices make the "Schnitzel" a darker Golden shade so make sure they are ready before removing them from the oil.

Enjoy!

Apple and Pear Juice

If you have a mild case of constipation, you can use this remedy to get results.

Prepare equal amounts of fresh apple and pear juice. Drink this composition when you first wake up and one hour before bedtime.

Juice the pears that are sLightly hard. If the pear is ripe, it is best to blend it whole with apple juice to create a thick drink. Using the whole pear will give you additional fiber. Just reMove the seeds but do not peel the organic type.

Pears have minerals, vitamins, and chemicals that help to clean out your colon, kidney and to regenerate your blood cells.

Apple Juice and Prune Juice

Here's a constipation remedy that you can use if you have persisting constipation. In addition to just drinking apple juice, you can accelerate your peristaltic operation with prune juice.

Here's how to do it.

If you have a juicer you can make fresh apple juice and drink 3-4 glasses a day. You can also drink store-bought apple juice but try to get fresh squeezed and not the type that has been flash pasteurized or pasteurized. If you can find fresh apple juice then use flash pasteurized.

Buy your juice in glass packaging if possible.

Plastic packaging are processed using solvents that stay in the package walls and moderately outgas into the apple juice. This out gassing is more severe when plastic packaging are stored in hot places.

To speed up the laxative effects of apple juice, take the following composition first thing in the morning before you have breakfast,

Drink 2-3 cups of prune juice.
After ½ hour, drink one cup of apple juice
Then, 1-hour later drink other cup of apple juice.

I regularly buy my prune juice in a bottle and fresh squeeze my apple juice.

Be prepared to head for the bathroom after you drink your prune juice and your first glass of apple juice. You may need to head to the bathroom soon after you drink prune juice, every person is different. I have used this composition and have recommended it to my clients and have had good results.

Prune juice by itself is good for constipation. It is a safe, polite and an effective laxative. Drink a cup in the morning and a cup in the evening. Prune juice contain the substance dihydrophenylisatin, which is responsible for the laxative action. Prunes are also high in iron and are a great supplement if you are anemic or low on iron.

If you add prune juice to your diet, do not drink as much of it as you would when you have constipation. Drink ½ glass in the morning and perhaps ½ glass in the evening.
