I Need Some Pots and Pans To Cook In - What Should I Buy?

I Need Some Pots and Pans To Cook In - What Should I Buy?

If you've shopped for cookware recently, you may have gotten a sick from finding at all the choices and brands available. And all of them seem to be telling you the same things - I'm the best; I'm a great value; buy me.

I Need Some Pots and Pans To Cook In - What Should I Buy?

I Need Some Pots and Pans To Cook In - What Should I Buy?

I Need Some Pots and Pans To Cook In - What Should I Buy?

I Need Some Pots and Pans To Cook In - What Should I Buy?

I Need Some Pots and Pans To Cook In - What Should I Buy?

What should you buy? Before you start inspecting your cookware options consider the following five questions.

1) Do you cook for a few population or a lot of people? This will resolve how many pots and pans you need and also how big you need them to be.

2) What kind of cooking do you most often do? I like to make homemade soup so a large stockpot is important for me. On the other hand, I never steam anything on the stovetop (I use an electric steamer) so a stovetop steamer is useless to me. Think about what you cook or what you want to learn how to cook so you can resolve what pieces of cookware you'll need.

3) How prominent is ease of cleanup to you? If you hate cleanup you should probably buy non-stick cookware. If you want to be able to put your cookware in the dishwasher you'll need to look at the sets you're inspecting to see if it's advisable. For example, hard-anodized aluminum cookware is a very favorite type of cookware but the surface of the pots will convert color and darken if you wash them in your dishwasher. I own this type of cookware and I love it. But there are days when I don't love having to take the time to hand-wash it, but I do because I don't want it to get discolored in my dishwasher. Most professional cooks prefer stainless steel cookware. It's nice to cook with but clean-up can be fairly time-consuming.

4) What type of stove do you have? Do you have a smooth-top electric stovetop? If you do, you need flat-bottom pots and pans. I didn't think about this when I purchased my smooth-top stove. I fast discovered my pots and pans weren't flat bottomed and that they didn't work well on my new stove. As a corollary I had to go buy new cookware that had flat bottoms. If you have an induction cooktop you needs pots and pans with ferrite in them, which means they need to be magnetic.

5) What is your budget? I very advise buying the best quality cookware you can afford. The best quality is not all the time the most costly cookware available, but it's never the cheapest. If you buy a .99 set of cookware, you'll be getting a business agreement but you won't be getting a good set of cookware.

Now that you've thought about your needs and know how much you can afford to spend, it's time to go look at cookware. You'll likely be using your cookware every day so you want something that you're comfortable working with. But the whole one thing to look for in cookware is weight and heft. Heavier weight cookware won't warp over time which causes you to lose the flat, even cooking surface on the bottom of your pan; and you can control the heat great in heavier weight cookware. I'm not saying you have to buy cookware that you need to join the gym to be able to lift out of the cupboard but don't buy cheap flimsy pots and pans.

If a pan feels like you could bend it, don't buy it. I'm not suggesting you walk into a store, pick up every pot and pan and try to bend it, but look at one of the saucepans. If you push a exiguous on the sides and that saucepan has some "give" to it, it's not going to hold up well on your stove.

To get a good quality cookware set you'll probably need to spend a minimum of 0. If you don't have that much to spend consider buying only the important pieces you need to get you started such as a 2-quart saucepan, a sauté pan and a stockpot. Add pieces as you can afford them. Although you'll typically get the best value for your money if you buy a cookware set versus buying the personel pieces don't buy a poor quality set just so you have an whole set of cookware. You'll end up spending more money in the long run replacing those pots and pans when they get warped and ruined (which won't take long).

If you take the time to consider your needs, do some shopping around, and buy the best quality set of cookware you can afford, you're likely to be happy with your buy for a long time.

Styling Tools - Best Styling Tools For Hair Styles

Styling Tools - Best Styling Tools For Hair Styles

For most women and many men, styling our hair after a shower has become a daily ritual. Either as a necessity to dry or tame fly-away hair, or as part of a regimen to sculpt a "perfect look" - and styling tools have become part of the styling inventory.

Styling Tools - Best Styling Tools For Hair Styles

Though styling tools and appliances come in a just a few "categories", their corollary on hair styles is pretty substantial...short, long, medium, straight, curly, ethnic, thick or thin hair styles all benefit from styling with the right products for the job. Let's take a closer look...

Hair Brushes

Ah, the most common, yet most overlooked of the styling tools. Though some may not think the brush - or comb - as a styling aid, it generally has the most impact on the style outcome. The type brush you agree - round, paddle, flat - and its bristles can have a measurable impact on your hair.

A couple of considerations: Look for brushes with ceramic coating on the barrel and bristles. Ceramic coating holds up longer to heat, humidity and wear and tear. As bristles lose their coating, they create friction with follicles and tend to tear, strip or frizz hair. As we age, hair becomes more dry and brittle and brushes without sufficient coating aggravate damage.

Bristles are normally stiff, soft, plastic or boar's hair. Though the stiffness and density of the brush is a matter of personal taste, staggered, stiff bristles work best with long and thick hair, whereas boar's hair provides increased manageability to fine or thin hair style. If possible, look for barrels with ceramic coating for heat distribution with thermal venting for faster drying (of your hair and the brush).

As a note, short hair styles work best with smaller barrels if you are using a round brush and narrower widths if using a paddle. Many stylists prefer small-width paddle designs for their increased flexibility and ease of use for short hair.

Hair Dryers

Probably the more critical, most often used, and easiest to operate, blow dryers & hair dryers have come a long way in the past few years. Many - at least the mores high-priced ones - couple Tourmaline, ceramic and ionic drying technology to allow for smoother hair without threat of damage. Newest models offer "cold shot" switches that allow you to quickly blast cooler hair assisting setting your style. Separate heat and speed controls allow you to find an ideal setting for your style, thickness and hair type.

The biggest villain in drying is the most definite - killing moisture in the follicles. Using the bottom setting potential helps sell out damage and ionic and tourmaline technology help infuse moisture into the cortex while eliminating static electricity. Today's hair dryer's are no longer only meant to dry wet hair, but are now used to add the valuable volume to the hair and the also control the frizz.

Flat Irons or Hair Straighteners

For long hair styles, flat irons have become the weapon of choice. Newer technology reduces frizzing and damage from over-Heating and furnish silky, level styling. Even those who prefer waves or curls, the flat iron is often the first step towards manageability. A couple of thoughts when considering a flat iron....one, Tourmaline and ceramic plates help safe the hair and distribute heat more evenly - avoiding hot spots that can burn and damage. Many have ionic generators which furnish negative ions that level and soften while taming static electricity, fly-away and frizz.

The most concern with flat irons is heat damage. Ensure hair is dry and plates are clean of dirt, oil pr goods build-up before using. Wet hair can steam and create valuable damage. Look for models that have pre-select temperature settings, automated shut-off.

Today's hair beauty products, styling tools and appliances are designed to help you perform the hair styles you're finding for...and technology has advanced to give you best styling and increased protection from damaged hair.

Steam Cleaners on Late Night Infomercials

Steam Cleaners on Late Night Infomercials

I never new what a steam cleaner was until I saw one on an infomercial one night. Those infomercials are so well made and persuasive that despite my great judgement, I found myself ordering one of their units and eagerly awaiting it's arrival.

Steam Cleaners on Late Night Infomercials

This type of a cleaner is sort of like a new Toy for a big kid because now I was going to be able to clean with steam. What a cool view and one that the infomercial made very appealing. I mean, I always cleaned my sink and toilets and other things but I never got them "steam" cleaned. Being able to clean them so that they were clean enough to eat off of was something that sounded very exciting.

Of policy what came in the mail worked nowhere like what was advertised on television. In fact, playing with the steam aspect of the cleaner wasn't verily fun at all after I realized that it wasn't cleaning like I saw on Tv. On the Tv spot they showed the steam coming out of the nozzle and decimating the dirt, just ripping it off the counters and sinks. It was truly spectacular how easy and fun it looked.

In reality though, the steam was just a sLight trickle that did very sLight to do away with the dirt. Even after setting it to the top setting, it did very sLight to clean my sink's surface. I assumed I was doing something wrong but no matter what I did, the cleaner failed to clean.

Steam can verily help clean things if it is harnessed correctly. It is tasteless in rug cleaning machines and can be used effectively to sanitize your carpets. But the handheld steam cleaner I got in the mail verily wasn't a machine that could clean anything. It serves me right for my weak late night moment of Watching infomercials.

Fiber aids digestion and gives a feeling of plentifulness when eating, vitamin A helps sound good foresight and helps to keep your immune theory healthy, potassium helps to keep muscle function up, folate helps to prevents birth defects, calcium helps preclude bone loss, iron helps preclude anemia and vitamin C helps the body to disCharge iron and helps boost the immune system. Keep this healthy vegetable at its peak by following these straightforward tricks.

To keep broccoli at its freshest, store it in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. Broccoli can also be frozen, first peel the leaves off the stalk and then blanch the broccoli in steam for roughly 5 minutes. Allow it to cool, and then place it in a sealed plastic bag. Broccoli can be stored in the freezer for up to 10 months. Broccoli doesn't store very well after it's cooked, it will probably break apart when it is reheated. If you do want to store cooked broccoli anyway, steam it until tender and store in a plastic bag.

Another way of storing broccoli is to cut off an inch or so from the ends of the stalks, rinse the bunch in cold water and put it upright in a cold water filled bowl, just like flowers in a vase. Cover the bowl with a plastic bag and refrigerate it.

Broccoli should be refrigerated within 30 minutes of its purchase if at all possible, and should be stored unwashed (dry it if it is wet from the store) in a sealed plastic bag with holes poked with a fork to allow the air to circulate. Some population wrap it in newspaper before they refrigerate it, any way this does not seem to be a very productive method.

How to Cook Beet Leaves - Italian Style method

How to Cook Beet Leaves - Italian Style method

This quick, easy and wholesome dish provides a great way to use up those big green beet leaves which are often thrown out.   The leaves, like many green leafy vegetables are loaded with lots of vitamins and iron.  For those who struggle with anemia (low iron in the blood) this can certainly help.   It also helps to eat more leafy greens during a woman's premenstrual cycle because it adds iron in the body which helps compensate for the loss of iron which occurs.

How to Cook Beet Leaves - Italian Style method

To get started, all you need is 1 bunch of beet leaves, a few cloves of garlic, extra virgin olive oil and some water.
Simply take 1 bunch of beet leaves and wash very well.  Do not use any discolored leaves which can appear yellow.  You want the deep green leaves.  You can keep the stems too.   Chop the leaves and stems (the stems will be a little bitter so you do nott have to use them) and set aside.   Crush a few cloves of garlic and saute the garlic in extra virgin olive oil for about 3 minutes over medium heat in a pan large enough to hold the leaves.  Do not let the garlic burn, this will ruin the whole dish.   Next add the beet leaves along with some water.  The water will help create steam for cooking.   If you add too much water, just let it cook off. Lower the heat to Low.   Cover and stir frequently until leaves are wilted and soft.   If you take off the leaves too soon, the leaves will be tough and hard to chew.   Add further water as needed to forestall leaves from sticking to pan.  Serve warm. This Italian dish can be served as a snack or as a nice side dish to a nice bowl of pasta, or even breaded chicken breasts with Italian seasonings. Enjoy!

Truth About Formaldehyde in Keratin Hair medicine

Truth About Formaldehyde in Keratin Hair medicine

Although Brazilian hair straightening is gaining popularity many prefer to stay away from it due to the proximity of formaldehyde in the product. It is a fact that formaldehyde is harmful for the human body. Knowing this fact, I'm sure no stylist or brands will shop such unsafe products. Due to internet, data is freely ready to everyone hence there is nothing to hide about the pros and cons of any consumer product. This is applicable to even the Brazilian hair straightening technique.

Truth About Formaldehyde in Keratin Hair medicine

Keeping the interests of consumers in mind some reputed cosmetic brands have come out with formaldehyde free keratin hair treatments. This hair medicine honestly does not consist of formaldehyde and results in soft, silky hair. It is a myth that Formaldehyde levels should never reach greater than .02% in any product. honestly Products that are applied directly on the skin must have lower levels of Formaldehyde because of the absorption factor. Our skin absorbs creams and make-up along with the toxins in them. Higher concentrations of Formaldehyde would be risky in makeup and sure skin creams. But for Hair Treatments, the product is applied such that it does not touch the scalp and also it does not remain for extended duration of time on the hair. It is always applied to the hair and sealed with the flat iron. Even formaldehyde article up to 2% is carefully as safe. Of course, prolonged and consistent exposure to formaldehyde might cause some side-effects.

Most of the salons which offer Keratin Hair medicine take the significant precautionary measures. It will be best if the clients are also aware of the dos and don'ts before getting the treatment. Keratin hair medicine is not advisable for Pregnant and nursing women. It is significant to wear mask during the medicine and also the place where the medicine is done should be well ventilated.

Many fear that the steam that rises during the blow dry and flat ironing phase in the keratin hair medicine is harmful. This is again not entirely true. The sediment that may be contained in this airborne steam might be disturbing for some since formaldehyde is classified as a carcinogen. But this can be honestly avoided by wearing a mask during the Flat iron process and perform this process in a ventilated area. Even a handy fan can be given to the buyer to keep the fume away. Compared to other straightening methods in Brazilian hair straightening there is no strong smell emanated during the process since there are no chemicals involved. You can hardly feel that you are undergoing a hair medicine when this product is applied to your hair.

As a consumer you have all the proprietary to investigate before deciding on any treatment. But blindly do not believe whatever you read. Keep some prominent pointers in mind like always go for salons and brands which have many years of contact behind them and good buyer feedback. Consult your hair stylist and clear all your apprehensions before taking the plunge because it is not easy to restore what is once damaged.

Kool Aid Stains In carpeting - Removing Them

Kool Aid Stains In carpeting - Removing Them

It's not all the time possible to reMove kool aid stains from carpet. All "red stains" are difficult to get out. Red coloring used in pop, candy, and other foods ordinarily doesn't flush out with water. However, if you try the methods used by pro carpet cleaners, you may get that stain out.

Kool Aid Stains In carpeting - Removing Them

Kool Aid Stains In carpeting - Removing Them

First, use a shop-vac to suck some of the kool aid out, if you can get to the stain quickly. This can stop the spill from entering the carpet fibers. Getting out some or all of the remaining stain takes time.

Start with Dawn dishwashing detergent - the primary blue type. Add five or six drops to two cups of warm water. Dampen a white cotton cloth with this explication and lay it over the stain. Then place a clothes iron on top of it, set on "low".

Let this sit for fifteen minutes, and don't press down. The red stain will start to wick up into the cloth. You should see red on the cloth. Fold it to use a clean part or apply a new cloth, and repeat the process.

It takes patience to get red stains out of carpet, but even year-old Kool Aid stains have been reMoved using this method. Repeat the process again and again until there is no more replacement of the red stain to the cloth. Rinse the spot with water, blot it up, and dry it quickly. Quick drying prevents any stain deeper down from wicking up to the surface.

To summarize: use clean white cotton cloth (several), low heat, and don't press or rub. Let the color wick up into the cloth at its own rate, then rinse and dry the area quickly. You can, at the very least, Lighten Kool Aid stains and other red stains in carpet using this technique.

Brushing To Get 360 Waves

Brushing To Get 360 Waves

Here is some easy tips to get you started when brushing towards 360 waves. Your first step is going to be getting a fresh hair cut. Like an artist you need a blank canvas. So go down to your local barber shop and get a low ceasar with the grain, ordinarily called a 1 & 1/2" type cut. He will know what you're talking about.

Next, go to Cvs or Walgreens and pickup a few items. They will comprise a soft brush, your favorite moisturizer, a do rag or stocking cap, and a can of grease or pomade.

The brush is going to be used daily. Brush your hair from the crown of your head down towards your skin in a 360 motion. Hence, the name. Brush in the pattern that you want. Some citizen go at funny angles that also look good. Most go for the quarterly 360 pattern.

The moisturizer is to be used daily to keep your hair soft for brushing and your scalp healthy. I suggest carrot oil if they have it. Ive also used carrot creme, pink lotion, blue grease, and olive oil. The best other than carrot oil is carrot creme in my opinion.

The do rag is to wrap your head up when you sleep. You need to wrap it pretty snugly. Some citizen wear them as a clothing accessory.

The key to getting this right is brushing your 360 waves in every day. If you slack, it will show if you are starting from the beginning. So if you want waves in your hair, work for them! Brush while loading screens of your Playstation games, or commercials, whatever. Just brush!

carpet Stain discharge Tips

carpet Stain discharge Tips

Carpet spills fall into two categories. They whether come from an animal (blood, urine, fat, etc) or a plant (wine, coffee). The spot is treated and reMoved in a fairly uncomplicated fashion but if the spot remains present for too long a stain can occur. Here are a few quick easy ways to both reMove the spot and get those stains out if needs be.

If you are dealing with an animal based spill there is a uncomplicated household explication that works great. Take a tablespoon of clear dishwashing or laundry detergent (or ammonia) and mix it with a  cup of water. Put your cleaning explication in a spray bottle and get to work. Spray that spot and Lightly agitate using a metal spoon. The intuit that I prefer using a metal spoon is because a nylon brush will tend to just dig the spot in deeper and damage the floor covering filaments. Give the explication a five minutes dwell time, rinse, blot practically dry and repeat until you are satisfied.

If you are dealing with a  plant based spot uncomplicated use the exact same course but using a dissimilar cleaning solution. The cleaning explication that you will be using this time is white vinegar and water in a 50/50 dilution. The acidity in vinegar works wonderfully against tannin stains as long as you put some elbow grease into it.

When all else fails you may have a stain. For stains you must resort to using bleach. Stay away from household Clorox bleach though. You'll very well damage you carpet. Instead you peroxide. Peroxide is a bleaching agent that is much less abrasive against nylon and works great. There are three things that accelerate the bleaching process. Those three things contain heat, Uv Light and alkaline.

If you are faced with a red dye stain, pour on some peroxide, take a white terry cloth and place it on the stain. Place a hot steam iron on top of the stain wait 30 seconds and release. Rinse with water, blot dry, let cool and repeat until there is no more transfer.

Other stains may be taken out simply by pouring on your peroxide and letting it sit in the sun. Pouring on some diluted ammonia onto the stain may also accelerate the process. Try all but do it carefully. Good luck.
